We had a great plenary session at http://www.iah-cnc2015waterloo.ca/ on “Moments of Insight in Hydrogeology: From the Canadian school to the world via GW2.0”.
For those of you who don’t know, the GW2.0 project will redevelop Groundwater (1979) (one of our favourite, but dated, textbooks), in an online format.
The big news is that the current publisher has agreed to return copyright to the two original authors (Al Freeze and John Cherry) who will, in turn, let HWB use the book for GW2.0. We give our sincere thanks to Andrew Dunaway (Senior Acquisition Editor, Pearson) for making this happen, and, of course, to John and Al for their generosity.
Eventual online access will not be free, but the effort is wholly not-for-profit, and access will be i) scaled by country, and ii) a lot cheaper that the book.
AND we will plan to crowd-source translate it in the fullness of time.
